ABOUT TARA ORLIN

Hello and welcome to my page! I am so happy you are here and interested in my way of working with horses! Here is a little info about me and my Academy:
My name is Tara Orlin, I am 33 years old and have dedicated my life to horses. I started riding at the age of 5, and have been hooked on horses ever since.
​
My journey has taken me to many different places and different countries, and has shown me a lot of different ways and methods of working with horses.
​
I have experience with classical dressage, show jumping, western, natural horsemanship, doma vaquera, trail riding, endurance training, as well as native ways of taming wild horses.
HOW I WORK WITH HORSES
​
I am a very open minded and spiritual person. Because I have travelled a lot, and seen a lot, I know that there are more than one way to do things. There is no such thing as only one right way.
​
My way of training is a mix of several different arts, the most important thing for me is that I want to train horses in a way that I feel is morally good. I want the horses to want to be with me. I dont want to use force, pain or dominate the horse into submission.
​
Horses are very smart and they love to learn and grow confidence. If you treat them the right way, they will gladly be your partner and enjoy spending time with you, whether you are riding or working from the ground.

MY EXPERIENCE
​
I have gained my experience through years of working with horses. I spent a third of my life riding classical dressage, a decade travelling and working at different ranches learning western and natural horsemanship as well as training problem horses, and the last decade I have trained over a thousand horses working as a professional horse trainer. I teach clinics, coach, and train horses for clients. I have also spent years studying wild horses, and spent 3 years in Spain learning the Spanish art of riding, Doma Vaquera.

WHY MY METHOD IS DIFFERENT
​
One thing that is unique with my method is that I never use bits. This has a huge impact on the horse and how they feel about being ridden.
​
Another thing is that I combine natural horsemanship with positive reinforcement. I use treats a lot and this really helps the horse to feel motivated and eager to learn.
​
I focus on the balance of being a friend and a leader as well as being emotionally stable and balanced. It is not okey to get angry at the horse under any circumstance. Assertive, yes. Angry, no.
​
My way of riding is very logical and very easy for the horse to understand, therefor the horse will learn and advance very fast.
WHAT YOU WILL LEARN​

​BITLESS RIDING
Learn how to train the horse to be in the moment with you, feeling like you and the horse truly are becoming one. You will learn everything you need to build a strong connection from the very beginning basics, to advanced riding. Your horse will learn to be focused, responsive and happy to be your partner. The riding is inspired by Western- and the Spanish art of riding, Doma Vaquera. You will learn how to steer and stop with your seat and body, teach the horse self-carriage and collection, and teach the horse to respond and be present in the moment, so you can ride and feel completely connected with your horse.

TACKLESS RIDING
Learn how to ride your horse without a bridle and without any tack at all! This is a great way to bond and connect with your horse. I will show you how you can practice this in a safe and fun way. If you follow my method you will be tackless riding within just one hour!
​
GROUNDWORK:
Learn groundwork to build that extra connection. You will learn basic exercises that will help you and your horse build trust and boundaries, as well as how to train at liberty and teaching the horse fun tricks like laying down, sit, rear and Spanish walk.
​
BONUS LESSONS: Horse communication, learn to read horse language and understand how horses communicate
